Howard Stephen Berg, is the only speed reader to have his record published in the Guinness Book of World Records. In 1990, the Guinness Book of World Records declared Howard Stephen Berg as “The Fastest Reader in the World”.
Achieving record speed reading rates is only part of Howard Berg’s professional life. Howard has been researching and developing proven, duplicatable brain based learning techniques to help students and professionals around the world spend less time on work and more time on enjoying their life.
The short falls of our educational system in the United States has kept Howard on his toes to continue developing leading edge strategies and methods of teaching as many people as possible the art of learning. His passion is contagious as referenced by so many of his students.
In the media, Howard Berg is most noted for his ability to comprehend and remember what he reads, even at 25,000 words per minute. He has read various texts on hundreds of radio and television shows, proving himself as the expert in speed reading and reading comprehension.
“On Cleveland’s Morning Exchange, Howard completed an 1100 page book and scored a perfect score on recall. He was retested three years later on the same book from the previous show again with perfect recall.
Dick Cavett had Berg memorize his autobiography in 90 seconds where demonstrated perfect recall.
On Live with Regis and Kathie Lee, Berg memorized a 200 page book, “Going to the Movies,” by Quentin Crisp, and scored 100% on the extensive test given by the author.”
A Double Blind study of Berg’s reading program’s effectiveness was conducted in 1998 and is available for review by clicking here.
As a former New York City science teacher, Howard passionately shares his proprietary advanced learning technology with students:
“My learning programs are focus on developing highly effective learning skills including: evaluation, analysis, memory, comprehension and utilization of the material you are reading. The school systems basically want students to regurgitate the information they give them versus teaching the student to learn. They want you to give them the right answer and for that you get a good grade, but the student isn’t learning.”
