Frequently Asked Questions
December 13, 2009
Q. Why is your speed reading course so much less than Evelyn Woods and Photo Reading?
A. As a teacher, director of a college preparatory school and a grandparent, I view learning as a necessity. As a necessity, it needs to be affordable for as many people as possible. Study after study, as well as polls of students reflect that our educational system in the United States is broken. We are not being taught how to learn, rather how to regurgitate information. Being trained to be a parrot is not the same as learning. In calculus you can memorize all the equations and still fail the test, because you didn’t learn how to apply them.
The potential success and brain power of our society is being left untapped. How does this effect you? You spend a lot more time completing your work or assignments, you experience greater frustration and that can lead to unnecessary stress at school and in the workplace. Realizing the need in our communities for a learning program like Maximum Power Reading, we do everything we can to keep our costs as low as possible to pass those savings on to you.
We rely on Maximum Power Reading being the best speed reading program on the market. One that goes beyond teaching speed reading to actually helping our students to learn smarter and faster. By providing a comprehensive program that nearly everyone can benefit from and backed by a money back guarantee, our students refer their friends and family. These referrals help us keep our expenses to a minimum and provides you with the advantage of lower prices.
Q. What is different about your speed reading programs?
A. There’s several differences. I’ve outlined two:
- I developed our core programs as a student myself and was amazed at the results I was able to achieve in a short period of time. Over the past 30 years I have personally taught thousands of students of all ages and a variety of professions how to speed read and my home study course has reached over 600,000 more students. My programs have been perfected through extensive research and the practical experience of working with the students of all ages. As a director of a college preparatory school, we want to give our students every advantage possible to achieve their dreams of scholarships and grants. We want to provide maximum results for each individual who completes the program, so great care has been given to the details of development.
- Mr. Reader’s programs concentrate on the art of learning first, building speed second. What good is reading fast if you’re not able to benefit from what you’ve read? By integrating reading skills, schematic processing for speed and understanding, study skills, as well as memory skills, my programs teach you comprehensive strategies you can build upon for the rest of your life. My speed reading program will help you with reading and comprehension for a variety of materials as well. Whether you’re reading for pleasure, reading for study and learning a subject or new language, work and even technical reading. By completing the programs within our learning systems you can develop solid skills and strategies that last a lifetime.
Q. What kind of results can I expect from your speed reading program Maximum Power Reading?
A. While we’ve had students quadruple their reading speed and better with practice, the double blind efficacy test of my speed reading program found the average person ages 11 to 64 usually doubled their reading speed, while retaining their comprehension rate upon completion of the four hour program. Those same results were also found of the students who attended my live instruction of the same four hour program. Some students increased their speed by 50%, some 100% and yet others were able to triple their speed at the end of the four hours. How you use your learned skills and practice them will determine the final outcome of your benefit.
Q. Is this course for younger children as well? Can this course be used by the entire family?
A. My programs are based on adult learning and I do not have any data for children under the age of 11 taking the course. Children under the age of 11 have used my program, but children under 11 were not included in our efficacy study. I would recommend that anyone under 11 be on at least a sixth grade reading level.
Yes! Use the system with your entire family. Family night can also be “learning” night! The skills and strategies within the programs are the same whether you’re a student or professional. The only thing that changes is the material you are reading. I know of families who’ve even included the grandparents and all three generations learn together. You’ll love it! And studies show active brains are less effected by dementia and Alzheimer’s.
Q. If I buy your speed reading program can I get support in using the program?
A. Yes. I provide online web training for groups and associations using the same exact program you will receive. If you would like to be notified of when these sessions are held, I am happy to give you free admission to attend. You will have the flexibility to join at any point of the session and I answer student questions.
Q. What if I’m one of the few people who simply cannot learn the program? Can I get my money back?
A. Yes, all my programs have a money back guarantee. You are welcome to return the program for a full refund of the purchase price. Shipping costs are not included in the refund amount.
Q. Can I read your double blind efficacy study?
